This Batman PSC (personal sketch card) was commissioned as a new take on this idea from about 2 years ago:
Which is doubly interesting in that my LAST commission was basically asking the same thing, but regarding a Magik sketch card. Huh.
Anyway, it's cool to do this sort of thing and see just how much my style and approach changes over the years. Honetly, I'm just pleased that its changed at ALL. So it's a very different LOOKING card even though the basic instruction was followed and both the pose and light source are very similar to the older version. You can also look at the first card as being the panel before this one in a comic, as there's a movement there as Batman moves to the gargoyle and perches upon it.
Finally, the gargoyle in this newer card wasresearched, and is a combination of a stylized bat and a Japanese oni mask. Just to shake things up a bit.
Approximately 2.5 x 3.5 inches, completed in greyscale Copic markers, colored pencil, and white ink.
