Batwoman Drawing by RichardCox Batwoman Drawing by RichardCox
This is part of a small series of 9x12 drawings with Copic markers, colored pencil and white ink on 400 lb off-white drawing paper I'm creating for sale at Heroes Con 2012 She was completed in warm & cool grey Copic Markers and E11-E18 (and more warm greys) for the burnished reds.

I love the way the drawing of the hair makes it seem like it's waving in the wind. Damn fine!

Incredible job on this drawing here man. I have never seen Batwoman look this cool in a commission drawing before. Love the way you utilized the copics on here to make it look watercolor. Your gonna have to give me some tips on what your doing to make it look like this dude. Excellent work.

Thank you! I just always thought of using them in the same way i do watercolor, and so use the same approaches and techniques.

That's the thing though, I don't know how to use watercolor, so I suck. I try though, but I suck. If you got some techniques bro, please share! I need it!

Well, work a lot with wet on wet and blending, and don't be afraid to go really dark. Also, since you don't have any painting experience, I woudl get that. Local classes, or just go out and paint landscapes, still life, people in the park, whatever. That'll honestly help you more than anything else. You'll see how light and color really work that way.
