Base card artwork for the Bad Axe Studios Bombshells: Women of War trading card set. What you're seeing is COPIC markers, COPIC sepia & black multiliners, acrylic paint, colored pencils, and white ink on 9x12 off-white medium strathmore drawing paper. I did Photoshop out where I decided later on I wanted that lower foot and taped it to the paper.
My goal was to attempt take a modern look, with the black lace et. al., and give it a classic, primarily Petty ([link]
) sensibility. Oh, and like on my Bettie Page base card presented below, I designed the lace patterns myself, as I find that an awesomely fun challenge.
There's a little more to the artwork of the FINAL piece for the set, completed in Photoshop, but I wanted to wait for that to be approved before I show it off.
